With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat.
