We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a reservation. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up until September, I had actually been similar to you. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to finish with the day instead of what my neighbours would depend on. Then, I developed a problem with my knee. The very first couple of weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little tasks that accumulate done. In the third week, a despair began to creep in. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, imposed on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After smoking nearly continuously when the anxiety embeded in, I started to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and state that many ladies at house do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
