All of us go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a doubt. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up until September, I had actually been similar to you. Triggering to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day instead of what my neighbours would depend on. I developed a problem with my knee. A semi-serious issue. In the 3rd week, a despair began to sneak in. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our home, enforced on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost continuously when the anxiety embeded in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the home. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would interrupt me now, and state that many women at house do what I do, stop and chat with the other ladies. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
