After cigarette smoking nearly continually when the depression set in, I began to see the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and say that most ladies at house do what I do, talk and stop with the other ladies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
