We have a no smoking policy in our house, implemented on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This implies that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically continuously when the anxiety embeded in, I began to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who walk past your house. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that the majority of ladies in the house do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have 2 replies. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
