I had absolutely nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our house, imposed on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically continually when the depression embeded in, I started to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who stroll past your home. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and say that many women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not understand the half of it all. I think it's time I offered you a complete image of our street and the people who reside on it. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her partner and remains in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some beginners. I never ever talked to him, even though what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
