We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up up until September, I had been similar to you. We have a no smoking policy in our house, implemented on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mother). This implies that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two homes across the street. After cigarette smoking nearly continually when the depression embeded in, I started to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the home. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most individuals would disrupt me now, and say that most ladies at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy deal with their 2 teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
