With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who walk past your house. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of women in the house do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you do not understand the half of it all. I think it's time I gave you a complete photo of our street and individuals who live on it. It will come in helpful in the future. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that beside that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
