I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat.
