We have a no smoking policy in our house, enforced on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes nearly continually when the depression embeded in, I started to notice the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of individuals would disrupt me now, and say that most females at house do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's house. She recently separated from her hubby and remains in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time.
