The first couple of weeks were great I. managed to get all the little jobs that pile up done. Then in the 3rd week, a malaise started to sneak in. I had nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, implemented on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost continually when the anxiety embeded in, I started to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of individuals who stroll past the house. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and state that a lot of females in your home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have two replies. Then last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy cope with their two teenage kids. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her partner and remains in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not introduced myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself.
