From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost constantly when the anxiety set in, I began to discover the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat.
