We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd idea. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of ladies at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other ladies. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
