All of us accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had actually been just like you. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. The very first couple of weeks were great I. managed to get all the little jobs that pile up done. Then in the third week, a despair started to creep in. I had absolutely nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, implemented on the bulk (me & my daddy) by the minority (my mother). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two homes across the street. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past your home. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that most ladies at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you don't know the half of it all. I think it's time I gave you a total picture of our street and the people who reside on it. It will be available in useful later on. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this website is the detached house where Steve and Mandy deal with their 2 teenage kids. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
