We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. I started to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past your home. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and say that many women at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not know the half of it all. I think it's time I gave you a total picture of our street and individuals who survive on it. It will come in beneficial later on. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage sons.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
