With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females tackled their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past your house. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and say that a lot of females at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
