After cigarette smoking nearly constantly when the anxiety set in, I started to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past your house. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat.
