This suggests that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After cigarette smoking practically continually when the depression embeded in, I began to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and say that a lot of females in the house do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
