We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I began to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, enforced on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. I started to choose up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other females. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached home where Steve and Mandy deal with their 2 teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
