This suggests that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two homes across the street. After cigarette smoking almost continually when the anxiety set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat.
