We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a reservation. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had been much like you. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to make with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. Then, I established a issue with my knee. A semi-serious issue. The first few weeks were great I. managed to get all the little jobs that accumulate done. In the third week, a despair started to sneak in. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our house, enforced on the bulk (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). This means that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking almost constantly when the depression embeded in, I started to see the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies went about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past your home. I began with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would disrupt me now, and state that a lot of ladies at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not know the half of everything. I think it's time I offered you a complete image of our street and the people who survive on it. It will be available in useful later. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that beside that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
