Then in the third week, a malaise started to sneak in. I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I began to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our house, imposed on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This suggests that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After cigarette smoking practically continually when the anxiety embeded in, I started to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who stroll past your home. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that most ladies at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you don't know the half of it all. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy deal with their 2 teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her other half and remains in the process of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I never ever talked to him, although what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I mention him.
