We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had been just like you. Setting off to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. Then, I developed a problem with my knee. A semi-serious issue. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I might walk, run, and climb, however it did stop me from driving, and that in turn stopped me from working. I signed up with the ranks of the long-term sick, continued to get my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The first couple of weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little tasks that pile up done. In the 3rd week, a malaise started to sneak in. I had absolutely nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking cigarettes policy in our home, enforced on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two homes throughout the street. I began to choose up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who stroll past the home. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and state that a lot of ladies at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other ladies. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her partner and remains in the procedure of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some newcomers. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. Of course, whenever I talked to them, I used terms like a neighbour to bridge this space in my knowledge. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City. I never spoke to him, even though what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I discuss him.
