All of us accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. This suggests that whenever we wish to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two homes across the street. After smoking cigarettes almost continually when the anxiety set in, I started to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their daily regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that the majority of women at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have two replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not know the half of everything. I think it's time I offered you a complete picture of our street and the people who live on it. It will be available in useful in the future. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
