With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. I have 2 replies. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish lady in her 60's. Last on this website is the detached home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
