From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After cigarette smoking nearly continually when the depression embeded in, I started to see the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would disrupt me now, and state that the majority of women at home do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then next to that is. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this website is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage boys.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
