After smoking cigarettes nearly continually when the depression set in, I began to see the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past your house. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I typically walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
