We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a reservation. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had been much like you. This implies that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking practically constantly when the depression embeded in, I began to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of individuals would interrupt me now, and say that the majority of ladies at house do what I do, talk and stop with the other females. It's a really small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 detached (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
