With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I normally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat.
