All of us accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up till September, I had been just like you. I joined the ranks of the long-lasting ill, continued to receive my paycheque, and sat and took it simple. The first few weeks were fine I. managed to get all the little jobs that accumulate done. Then in the 3rd week, a despair started to creep in. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I began to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our house, implemented on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two homes across the street. I started to choose up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of individuals would interrupt me now, and say that a lot of ladies at house do what I do, stop and chat with the other ladies. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Then last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage kids. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. She recently separated from her other half and remains in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I cope with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City. I never ever talked to him, despite the fact that what I'm about to inform you, so this is the last time I mention him.
