This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking practically continually when the depression set in, I began to discover the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women tackled their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hey there and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat.
