We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a second thought. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies set about their day-to-day regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many individuals would interrupt me now, and say that many ladies at house do what I do, talk and stop with the other women. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant home, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy cope with their two teenage boys. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
