All of us go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up up until September, I had actually been much like you. Setting off to work every day, concerned more about what I was going to make with the day rather than what my neighbours would depend on. In the third week, a despair began to sneak in. I had absolutely nothing to do, no place to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no smoking policy in our home, enforced on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two homes across the street. I began to choose up on when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who walk past your home. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and state that many women at home do what I do, stop and chat with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you do not know the half of all of it. I believe it's time I gave you a total picture of our street and the people who reside on it. It will come in useful later on. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's house, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
