All of us support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without providing it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had been just like you. Triggering to work every day, worried more about what I was going to do with the day rather than what my neighbours would be up to. I developed a problem with my knee. A semi-serious issue. It didn't stop me from doing most things, I might walk, run, and climb, however it did stop me from driving, which in turn stopped me from working. I joined the ranks of the long-term sick, continued to receive my paycheque, and sat and took it easy. The very first few weeks were great I. managed to get all the little tasks that accumulate done. Then in the third week, a malaise started to sneak in. I had absolutely nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to eliminate. I started to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, implemented on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mom). This suggests that whenever we want to smoke, we have to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's house and the fronts of 2 homes across the street. After smoking practically continually when the depression set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would find myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these females set about their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of individuals who walk past your home. I started with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and say that many ladies at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and two, you do not understand the half of everything. I think it's time I gave you a complete photo of our street and the people who reside on it. It will can be found in useful in the future. It's a really little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited home, and after that next to that is. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a big Irish female in her 60's. Last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage kids.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our home. Last on the row was a chap who worked somewhere in the City.
