From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two homes across the street. After cigarette smoking practically continuously when the depression set in, I began to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their everyday regimens.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the home. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She recently separated from her hubby and is in the procedure of moving.
