From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking cigarettes practically continuously when the anxiety set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the canine for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their everyday routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I usually walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. A lot of people would interrupt me now, and state that many females at house do what I do, stop and chat with the other ladies. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Next is Sheila's home, she's a big Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's house. She just recently separated from her partner and remains in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has 2 pre-teen daughters Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't introduced myself yet, so now would be a great time.
