We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our house, imposed on the bulk (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). This means that whenever we want to smoke, we need to stand at the back entrance. From here, you can see the entryway to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses across the street. After cigarette smoking nearly continually when the anxiety embeded in, I started to see the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I began to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself unconsciously having a cigarette when these ladies tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of the people who stroll past the house. I started with a friendly hey there and progressed to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would disrupt me now, and say that many women in your home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you do not know the half of all of it. Last on this site is the separated home where Steve and Mandy live with their two teenage children. They are in their late 30's.
