We all accompany this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without giving it a doubt. Here's where I differ from the rest of you. Up until September, I had been much like you. I had absolutely nothing to do, nowhere to go, and loads of time to kill. I started to get depressed.

We have a no cigarette smoking policy in our home, implemented on the majority (me & my father) by the minority (my mom). This indicates that whenever we wish to smoke, we need to stand at the back door. From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's house and the fronts of two houses across the street. After smoking practically continually when the anxiety set in, I started to discover the comings and goings of the people in the street. I began to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the routine times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women went about their day-to-day routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with the majority of individuals who stroll past your home. I started with a friendly hello and progressed to the point where I normally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and state that most women in the house do what I do, chat and stop with the other women. I have two replies. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish woman in her 60's. Last on this site is the detached house where Steve and Mandy live with their 2 teenage children.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's house. Next is our home. Last on the row was a bloke who worked someplace in the City.
